I've found that its really pretty difficult to blog on a weekly basis, but Im figuring things out here in college, so I'm hoping to get into a pattern pretty soon. Which by the way I LOVE college! Just everything about it! I think it has its own kind of awesomenes that's pretty hard to put into words. :) But This is something I jotted down when flying to ATL this summer, while listening to my ipod. A little inspiration from my man, John.
"When you trust your television, what you get is what you got,
cuz when they own the information, they can bend it all they want" - John Mayer
Finding your own opinion, I believe, helps a person find their own identities. Sure, that's a basic thing if you think about it but thsoe opinions make someone an identity from the person next to them. Your opinions come from your thoughts, your thoughts become words, words become action, and action becomes destiny.
What I've found to be important to me in my probably past 3-4 teenage years, and what is also enjoyable to me, is developing an opinion about something I feel is important. I like finding out for example, I want to learn how to geniunely cook. My uncle Eli, is a chef and he's really good at it. I decided that his gift is something that I want to become a talent of mine. Who doesnt want to know how to make a killer taco pizza or an amazing foreign cuisine?! Exactly.
I mean, in general, finding your own is a pretty essential part of life. You feel more inviggorated and desire to go out into the world and make a difference. You dont even have to make a difference. The difference is going to be living your own happy lifestyle, doing what you want and trying new things.
My point is...well..one last thing, in addition to all this "soul searching stuff" Ive been talking about, I've come to find that I am sort of a transendentalist at heart. Letters, i love letters. I prefer books over kindles, that kind of thing. Technology is great and it benefits our world SO much. From global communications to just texting your grandma. When it takes over the more enjoyable, more simple, more naturistic things in life though, that's kind of sad to me. Sure, we live in a first world country, but there are so many better things to do. I'm not innocent of chillin on the couch with the internet in front of me for most of the day, soaking up technology one day or another, which isn't a bad things at all either. But finding out what really hits you the deepest, what affects you the most, what ignites passion inside you, what fills your soul with life, and your heart with smiles, that. is something that I truly enjoy discovering and I feel is one of the most important things in life.
